Senior Buyer - Planning and Procurement Department

An opportunity has arisen within the Planning and Procurement Department for a Senior Buyer reporting to the Planning and Procurement Manager. The job holder will be responsible for price negotiation of parts and developing systems that ensure supply needs to the UK and China are satisfied. We seek a self-motivated individual working with experience of MRP, integrated computer systems and modern flexible replenishment systems.
Responsibilities:
- To identify and develop sources of supply that offer cost advantages to the company.
- Develop the use of mixed replenishment systems to ensure continuous availability of parts to our UK and China manufacture resources.
- Work with Suppliers to ensure that mutually beneficial working systems are in operation. Ensure that Forecast to Suppliers is accurate and relevant and monitor Supplier performance.
- Continually review stock levels and supply commitment.
- Keep abreast of market conditions and conduct regular benchmarking exercises to review our performance.
- Establish new product/project material costs.
- Responsible for team of purchasing administrators.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven experience of cost negotiation and preparing contractual agreements.
- Proven experience in Global sourcing.
- Experience in controlling a purchasing spend of Circa £15M+
- Experience of hardware sourcing as well as electronics.

- Ability to motivate and manage a department.
- Self motivated and committed to succeed.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
- Ability to work with closely with functional departments
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
